Mark Stephen Wakefield Born in Atherton Greater Manchester 1959 Ex Miner Mark turned his lifetime hobby into a profession over 20 years ago FROM PITMAN TO PAINTER After the decline of the mining industry of which he spent 13 years as a miner, Mark turned his lifetime hobby into a profession 1992 . His work is admired by people from home and abroad and is now in private collections worldwide. The pleasure people get from his paintings gives him a personal satisfaction, which gives him incentive toward new inspirations. He has travelled extensively in Great Britain and Ireland selling his art and is now based in Bedfordshire. Marks paintings come mounted and ready to frame, he sizes his paintings so frames can be bought from most High Street shops at reasonable prices. Mark supplies some galleries and shops but his art is a lot cheaper if you buy directly from him. His paintings are now in private collections worldwide. Marks artwork has become highly collectable.
