1939 Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham. WW2 Brodie Helmet with size 49 Male liner. This helmet belonged to John Turland of the Northumberland Fusiliers. He was a Guard based in Rugby defending the Railway Line from German invasion. His name is handwritten on the inside of the helmet liner. The helmet was found by my uncle during renovations and demolition of Railway buildings in Rugby whilst working for British Rail. The liner is stamped 7 BMC1 1939. The liner was manufactured by Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham. The liner size is also stamped at 49 Male. The helmet has stamps where the chin straps attach but these are no longer fully readable. The helmet is in reasonable condition with authentic WW2 surface rust included! The chin straps are still elasticated. Any questions please feel free to ask.
