is the real thing! Original Figural 1920's Cast Iron Lawn Jockey. These were used to hitch a horse to in the early days. This Lawn Jockey was removed from the front property of a southern Indiana Victorian home in the 1960's when it exchanged ownership. He was stored in the basement of that home till about 1990 when I purchased him. He then was in my storage till now. This original casting is in great condition with no cracks or damage. He does have an older repaint that would have been done well before he was removed from the yard in the 1960's. The paint shows some minor chipping and wear as would be expected for it's age. The white painted areas does have some very minor browning stains and crazing in the finish. Please see all photos for further description. The paint is very sound and this guy looks really great just the way he is. I would not change a thing about him. He has that wonderful aged charm that can only come with time. He has a 1/4" mounting hole on the bottom of each foot. He stands on his own just fine, but could be mounted on a platform or stand for additional stability if you like. He is a nice size at 25" tall. He weighs about 25 pounds before packing. Additional packing would be used for a safe trip. Never a packing charge. Shipping would be about 45.00 via UPS in the USA. ~~~ Please ask any questions you may read more
