This auction is for a very fine and original mid-19th century lithographic print of The Hudson Highlands (From the Peekskill & Cold Spring Road, Near Garrison's Landing) Published in New York by Currier & Ives, 152 Nassau St.. Print measures 30" long x 24" wide, aproximately, and is lightly kissed with color. Shows an idillic and magnificent view of this gorgeous site, with cows resting next to the dirt road. The artist is identified as F. Palmer (Fanny F. Palmer) and sports the following annotation: Entered According to Act Of Congress in the year 1857 by Currier & Ives at the Clerk's office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York. Found in original condition. Framed in an old wooden frame. Sports no visible areas of damage or repairs (please note I haven't taken print out of frame for a closer inspection). Offered for a low opening bid and no reserve. Please note similar prints retail for $2,000.00+ when found in other venues. Thank you.
