CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT ENERGY DRAWINGThis beautiful energetic piece is by American artist Karl Scofield. Karl was one of the artists exhibited in the most ambitious show put together by the Transcendental Arts Council in 2003 titled the "United States of Energy" at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick Maryland. More about this artist can be read at www. artscollaborative (dot) org under Art Exhibits - Something to do with Energy.Date: This is a rare piece from the period when Karl was anti-art - Dated on back June 24, 2011Size: 8.5" x 11Medium: Ink on paper. Unmatted and unframedBio: Interesting story about this artist. He has been a recluse of sorts for about the past 15 years. Until this year he has only produced 1 painting and a couple loose sketches. Karl received a B.F.A. from the College of William and Mary in 1986. He studied Zen Buddhism at Dai Bosatsu in upstate New York. He lives and (NOW!) paints in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Another interesting fact is that he currently is working in the studio of artist David Heatwole another artist that focuses on work related to energy and synergy.Statement: "What organically arises from the void is only a point of departure.
