Original German WWI pickelhaube helmet corpus with chinstrap bosses and liner intact (no drawstring). The grommetted wappen holes measure 6cm across and 5.5cm from the edge of the front visor. Both visors are still tightly stitched. This helmet is stamped with a Munich maker's mark, but t is no unit designation anyw on the helmet. It appears to have been converted either from (pre-war) or to (post-war) a fireman's helmet because t are indentation marks w the comb would have been set. But t is also a heavy indentation for the hinterscheine (back spine), so it is really hard to determine which came first. The helmet is a very small size (probably 54) and the leather could use some conditioner although it is not at all brittle. Please e-mail with any other questions. Good luck bidding!
