He was the most successful flying ace of the Imperial German Army Air Service ( Luftstreitkräfte ) during World War I , being officially credited with 80 confirmed air combat victories. German autobiography by the Red Baron (Manfred von Richthofen). It contains 262 pages and 22 photos on plates with photos of Richthofen and his leaders, relatives, friends and comrades and also some military art. Published in the early thirties in Berlin, Germany. Please note that it was introduced and continued by Richthofens brother after the Red Baron's death on April 21, 1918. Included are words of praise by Wilhelm II. and Hindenburg. With 18 facsimile signatures of members of Richthofen's squadron (in that sense "signed"; see photo # 10). Also signed and dated by two different owners in 1939 (beginning of WWII). The book measures (nearly) 8 x 5 inches. Black linen covers and red plane image. It is in good used condition with marginal spotting on some outside page edges and a quarter-size light discoloration on the top center front cover (see my photos #1, 11 & 12).
