Original hand tinted albumen photograph by von Stillfried(?) Original XIX century photograph of a famous Japanese genre scene. The samurai and his wife. Printed on light albumen paper it is in very good condition with some minor flaws. On the back it reads in pencil: “ Attori di teatro – OnJibaja Giapponese” “Theatre actors – OnJibaja Japanese” Medium: hand tinted albumen Size: 20,2 X 27 cm (8.7 X 10.6 inches ) Author: Attributed to Raimund von Stillfried-Rathenitz ( 1839 – 1911 ) Condition : very good but with some minor discoloration on the watercolour, otherwise excellent, no foxing Date: 1880 ca.
