This is a beautiful sewing or quilting doll handmade by Pig Pen Hill in New England. I have the original tag that states she is: Pig Pen Children and the original artist is Elaine Russell. I have a number of her dolls and I need to let this one go. She is a large doll 25-26". Obviously this is not a toy. The blue thing you see in the picture is the hanger I had her on to take the picture. She does have a string attached in the back. She has wings made out of an old quilt top. Her face and hands are hand painted and her hair is wool. She has a lot of sewing items in her basket as you can see from the picture above and on the other side she carries fabric and ribbons. He also has a lot of buttons. She has pantaloons on under her painted legs. If you like hand made dolls, you will love this one. Most of these dolls retailed for over $100.
