You get an original (and HARD TO FIND REFERENCE) 12" x 9" hardcover book with 216 pages of photos and history and another 129 pages of advertising such as steamboats, resorts, ships, etc. There are over 750 identified Baltimore City Policemen shown, as well as the Detective Service - "The Pictures of all the detectives were printed, & at the request of the Board of Police Commisioners, and following their policy of making this branch of the department as secret as possible, the pictures of detectives in this edition are covered with gilt masks".
