This no reserve auction is for an original Lionel 308 Railroad Sign Set in its original box. Lionel offered the 308 Railroad Sign Set during the prewar era from 1940 - 1942 and in the postwar era from 1945 - 1949.This set is complete with all 5 different die-cast signs painted in white enamel with raised black lettering. The signs are individually numbered 301 - 305. The lettering for the Railroad Crossing sign is embossed. A small scratch on the base of the Railroad Crossing sign and a small fleck of paint on the back of the Yard Limit sign - minor but worth noting. The original box has a glossy type finish. It features blue lettering on the box ends. The box is a brick showing only minor shelf wear. The bright blue die-cut cardboard insert with silver lettering holds each sign in place inside the orange box bottom. For anyone seeking a super nice Lionel accessory from the golden era this will make a great addition to your collection.
