Stunning Early Listed G Willis Pryce Original Oil Painting "Castle By The River" Signed To The Lower Centre Right By The Artist G Willis Pryce For George Willis Pryce RSA RWS (1866-1949) Circa 1900 Oil On Canvas Framed In Excellent Condition Estimated Value £600-900 This stunning and very well executed original oil painting by this fabulous listed artist measures 15 1/2" by 11 1/2" by 1 1/2" including the frame, and just under 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" actual picture area. The oil itself is in excellent condition, with no damage whatsoever. The more recent solid wood gilded and painted frame is in excellent condition with a little chip on one of the lower back corners (not visible unless looking up at the painting), and suits the painting very nicely. The painting is secured onto its own stretcher which is then strongly secured into the outer frame. The painting is ready to hang with a hanging wire. The painting portrays a gorgeous landscape featuring a magnificent castle overlooking a river. The brushwork is absolutely superb and the colours are beautiful. I particularly love the trees, the castle and the reflections in the river. I do not know where the location was as the artist painted many works in all sorts of locations but it is certainly very beautiful.
