Original Anson Mills, patent 1881 OLD RELIABLE Sharps Belt Plate. The famous Sharps Carbine nicknamed "OLD RELIABLE" has been chosen for this original Indian Wars style Belt Plate stamped: ANSON MILLS, PAT. FEB 1.1881 T.C.ORNDORFF SOLE MANF. WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. on the back. The 3" by 3 1/4" buckle is made of brass and has some patina on it, both front and back. No keeper. It has marks indicating it has been taken off a belt in the past, not affecting its usability or looks. Overall condition: very good.
