Up for auction is a fabulous 20" x 15" (# 9 cold press board) original watercolor painting by Navajo artist J.Smith , dated 12/2005. If you have'nt heard of this artist, I feel you will, as he is one of the most talented artists that I've ever met. His portraits and caricatures are absolutely wonderful! This painting depicts a Hopi "Santa" giving a gift to his Navajo "Santa" neighbor. In the past, the Hopi & Navajo were ancient enemies, but when the U.S. government created the reservations, the Hopi nation was placed within the Navajo's reservation. Not the best of situations to be in. Could the gift in the painting is a depiction of a new hope between the two tribes? This auction has no reserve. I would be happy to answer any questions that you have or send photos if you'd like. The shipping is $10.00 to anyw in the lower 48 states. I accept Paypal, cashier's checks, money orders, and personal checks (bank- clearing period required on a personal check). Thank you for viewing my auction and good luck bidding.
