At anexceptionally early age, she displayed extraordinary talent for the visual arts & wasaccepted into the Leningrad Academy of the Arts. Her early works were shown in severalSoviet-era museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Krasnodar, the Peoples Museum ofSohumi, the Symferopol Museum of Fine Arts & the Graphic Arts Museum of Novosibirsk.Despite this success, she felt too restricted by the imposed artistic standards of theSoviet state. Disagreement with government policy & philosophy led Natalia to involvementwith dissident movements & subsequential exile to West Germany. In Munich, she continuedher studies with the master, Alexander Anufriev. Her art was shown in several prominentart galleries in Germany, Poland, Greece, Belgium, Sweden & Norway. During one of hertrips to Greece, she met the great painter Yiannis Tsarouhis & a long relationship wasinitiated.
