WELCOME TO MY AUCTION FOR 35 ORIGINAL ISSUES OF THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC MAGAZINE Issued monthly for the employees of The Pacific Electric Railway 1925- July, Aug (2), Oct 1926- Jan, Feb, April, May 1927- Jul (2) 1929- Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June (3), Sept, Oct (2), Nov, Dec 1930- Jan, Feb, March, May, Sept(2), Oct, Nov, Dec 1931- Jan, Mar, May All issues are in used condition . Some discoloration from age, some bending on edges, some have light stains and small tears on edges. Overall they are in good used condition, some very good. These are a wonderful and also a great part of Los Angeles and Southern California history. Interesting stories and advertisements and detailed activities of the company and it's employees. Pacific Electric Magazine was begun in June 10, 1916 as an eight-page monthly and continued until the depths (in this area) of the Great Depression when, between 1932 and 1936 publication ceased. In 1937 it resumed publication, sometimes bi-monthly (six times a year) and sometimes monthly. Its last issue was October 1953 (as of Oct. 1, 1953 all passenger operation was taken over by Metropolitan Coach Lines. From 1953 until it ceased to exist in 1965, activity on the PE was reported in the âeoeSouthern Pacific Bulletin,âe the employee publication of PEâe(tm)s parent company.
