St. John's Cow A signed original painting by AnnaJo about the artist AnnaJo Newman Vahle's paintings often evoke that sense of"been there" or "done that." She paints extraordinary intimate scenes of people and places that are really quite ordinary, but comfortable in their familiarity. AnnaJo works primarily in acrylic and oils. Her style is realistic and often quite detailed. Although born in upstate New York, AnnaJo grew up with her family Western United States and visited many of ’ National Parks. These visits continue to fuel her passion for realist and panoramic art. AnnaJo’s art inspirations grew to also include the great Renaissance art and the chiaroscuro work of Caravaggio while living in the Mediterranean. Frank Lloyd Wright summed it up nicely for AnnaJo when he said: “If you ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it...
