For your consideration, we are offering one PHILIPS / MAGNAVOX CD-100 Compact Disc player. This is THE FIRST CD player, ever brought to market by PHILIPS / MAGNAVOX. This is the US version, as it opperates on 120V . This unit is also sometimes known as the FD-1000, which was made for non US markets. This unit, is in fair to good condition, with some scratches wear and imperfections. The unit does NOT work. The unit WAS working very well, however one day, when powered on, all that was heard from the output, was hum, and the CD would no longer spin up to full speed. (it does however spin slowly). When it was working the sound was excellent, and it would play both store bought and computer burned CDs. The trouble is likely a power supply issue and VERY likely a filter capacitor failure, but I am selling the unit "as is" , This SHOULD NOT be a problem to repair. Many argue that the audio quality of these is some of the best of any CD players ever built. These are fairly rare, so dont miss this chance to own collectable and functional piece of audio gear.
