ORIGINAL Pre-Civil War 1814 Dated Bowie Knife - Possible Confederate Used.Up for sale we have an interesting Bowie Knife. This one very closely resembles the Confederate D-guard Bowie knife that was commonly used during the Civil War. This example has the date 1814 carved into the blade, indicating that it was forged prior to the start of the Civil War. All of the characteristics of this knife are in line with wartime produced confederate Bowie knives, down to the materials and method of construction. Although it cannot be known if this knife was used during the war, it certainly would be a nice stand in item in a civil war collection. This is your chance to get a nice Bowie knife that stands a good chance of being a confederate carried item during the Civil War at a fraction of the cost. Not one to miss!
