An incredible find!!! A full flippable animation scene from The Lion King! Yes! Twenty-two (22) rough animation drawings of Young Simba by Tom Bancroft. I believe this is the moment when he fell in the thicket after being chased by the hyenas. The drawings are all in blue PolyChromos pencil on 16field animation bond (approx 16x12.5"). Several of the drawings have peg holes taped onto the bottom - often animators will re-register drawings and scoot the entire drawing over rather than re-draw it on a new piece of paper. These 22 images amount to barely 2 seconds of screen time, just so you can get a taste of how much work goes into every moment. You can see the pencil test in motion on YouTube.
