Up for bids.... Original PULLMAN 8 (RARE LARGE) Tourist Woll Blanket 104" X 86" Made in 1915 Condition: No odors, no major damage. A couple of spots that has been sewn and a few small spots that need to be repaired. We took photos of all the flaws thatwe could find. For the age of this AMERICANA ITEM it is in good condition with very little fading. 104" X 86" Note: The photos are taken with it folded in half. On one corner is a tag that reads 'TOURIST". See last photo.This is a wonderful item for your collection. Not many of these left...especially these Large Sized ones. For decades, travelers traversed the United States by train. Pullman sleep cars came equipped with "Pullman" blankets, which have become a nostalgic symbol of a bygone era. This Pullman blanket is an original. This blanket was made in approximately 1915. Pullman blankets were first appeared in 1907, and the number (8) on the blanket represents the number of years after 1907 that this particular blanket was created. The pattern features natural creams and tans with the word "Pullman" across. Measuring 56" x 84", it comfortably drapes a twin bed, but can also be used as an attractive throw in the living room or reading nook.
