One of many wonderful photos and postcards found in an album that follows a man's journey from boot camp in 1930, his tour on the USS Texas and finally to Annapolis. This young man was an excellent photographer who fortunately for us left a collection of often rare glimpses of Naval life. Please check back often under my page as I add more. If you are a collector of Naval memorabilia you'll be glad you did! This auction is for an Great Original certificate that was awarded by completing the course "A to N" (seaman first class) by the Bureau of Navigation on board the USS Texas. Awarded July 2, 1931. It is hand signed by J.L. Kauffman, Comdr, USN (Educational Officer) and by Guy Davis, Commanding Officer of the USS TEXAS. J.L. Kauffman went on to become Rear Admiral and Davis was promoted to Captain of submarines. Captain Davis was presented with the Navy Distinguished Service Medal during WWII. Yes! I do combine shipping for multiple items. PLEASE wait for my email with the adjusted shipping costs before sending payment. Note: Due to my work schedule I can only ship on Thursday and Friday.
