Original Hungarian Herendi Cup with Saucer. Welcome to the world of Herend’s special shapes! Looking back on long and great tradition, the world-famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory produces an amazingly wide range of treasures. The highest quality porcelain is made in some 16,000 shapes at Herend, while the number of décors with mesmerising colours is around 4,000. This ensures that everyone can find their ideal pieces or sets. The special pieces in this publication are connoisseurs’ items: their complex and unique shapes are in the fullest harmony with the painting, and were made by the most talented masters. These works will preserve the values of a culture for generations. In Herend we use real gold. The decoration is followed by another decor firing (at ca. 800°C) to allow the pattern to fire onto the surface and dress the product in its spectacular garb. CONTOUR DRAWING At times the decoration or the pattern is drawn with pen. SPECIAL BRUSH The drawn pattern is coloured using squirrel-hair brushes.
