This auction is for original artwork for a Trudy comic strip done by Jerry Marcus (creator of the syndicated Trudy comic strip which began in 1963 or 1964 with King Features). This is an original cartoon ... not a copy ... it is on heavy white paper and is about 12" x 22". Thsi one has the King Feature Syndicates label dated 1983 so I would guess it is about 24 years old since it was published. The artwork includes the color overlay which would have been used to show the newspaper printer what colors to use ... when you lift the overlay the original cartoon is underneath in black & white ink pen. Marcus was in the navy during WWII and then went to art school in New York City. He later became a well known gag cartoonist published in Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, Playboy, New Yorker, Good Housekeeping, Sports Illustrated, Argosy, True ... you name it. In the early 60's he started the Trudy strip which was a favorite for decades. Unfortunately he passed away in 2005. Please email me with any questions. They are all roughly 8 1/2" x 11" . Buyer pays actual 1st Class postage or Priority ... your choice. I accept Paypal, Money Orders and personal checks. Thanks for looking and bidding.
