Here is a carte de visite taken of Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra (1844–1925) by the man who invented the CDV format André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri (1819-1889)...This portrait of Princess Alexandra of Denmark I believe was taken at a session with Disderi in 1866...She was the wife of Queen Victoria's eldest son Albert Edward(1841–1910), the Prince of Wales and later Edward VII of England...The great Parisian photographer Disdéri started his photographic career as a daguerreotypist but gained greater fame for patenting his version of the carte de visite...He also invented the twin-lens reflex camera...He had a studio in Paris and a short-lived London branch....This historic portrait photo is offered with no reserve...
