Please check out my other original vintage European enamelware auctions!! Circa 1930's and 1940's. These make great gifts or usable display items. Our enamelware has been featured in Country Living magazine and shows, as well as many others. We have one of the largest collections in the US. Time to downsize so get some nice enamelware at great prices!! Here's a wonderful original vintage European enamelware tiffin, or meal carrier. Raise up the handle, and the compartments can be easily removed from the metal frame. Usually hot coals were placed in the bottom compartment, with meats, rice, and/or vegetables placed in the other compartments. The top compartment's lid could be turned over to serve as a plate. Tiffin is cobalt blue in color with red trim. This small tiffin measures about 13 1/2" tall, including the handle on the top x about 4 1/2" in diameter. Unmarked. Overall good condition for its age, with some surface wear here and there. As with original enamelware, there is a tax mark on each piece. Nice display item!!
