Please check out my other original vintage European enamelware auctions!! Circa 1930's and 1940's. These make great gifts or usable display items. Our enamelware has been featured in Country Living magazine and shows, as well as many others. We have one of the largest collections in the US. Time to downsize so get some nice enamelware at great prices!! Here's a very nice original vintage European enamelware tiffin, or meal carrier. Raise up the handle, and the compartments can be easily removed from the metal frame. Usually hot coals were placed in the bottom compartment, with meats, rice, and/or vegetables placed in the other compartments. The top compartment's lid could be turned over to serve as a plate. Dark green with a gold floral design and trim. Decorated tiffins such as these are very rare to come by! Tiffin measures about 16 1/4" tall, including the handle on the top. Unmarked, but probably made in Czechoslovakia. Overall good condition for its age, with some surface and edge wear here and there. As with original enamelware, there is a tax mark on each piece.
