This auction is for an original vintage (non reproduction)Whizzer Motorbike Engine Crankshaft and Connecting Rod in "as-removed" condition. Very rare and hard to find item. ORIGINAL CONDITION! Connecting rod turns freely and bearing spins normally. Please review the photographs carefully prior to bidding. This item is described accurately to the best of my knowledge. If anyone has additional information regarding this item, please send me a message via the eBay messaging system.-----------------------A Little History of the Whizzer Bicycle Engine---------------------------- Whizzer bicycle engines were produced in the United States from 1939 to 1965. They were commonly sold as kits to be assembled and attached to a bicycle thus creating a motorized bicycle. Whizzer U.S.A. re-appeared in 1997 to sell an improved version, pre-assembled on an old Schwinn-style bicycle frame. This auction is for an original (1940’s -1950’s) Whizzer. It is not the post 1997 version. Timeline of the original Whizzer Bicycle Engines : 1939 The Whizzer bicycle engine was first produced Breene-Taylor Engineering, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of airplane parts. 1942 Whizzer was then sold to Dietrich Kohlsatt and Martin Goldman due to declining sales (only 2500 units sold to date). 1943 World War II was well underway and Whizzer Motors were forced to lobby the United States Government for the right to continue production based on proposed usage by defense workers to travel to and from work. 1948 Whizzer sells first pre-assembled motorized bicycle called the "Pacemaker". 1965 Whizzer ceases production due to increasingly competitive bicycle engine market. 1997 Whizzer brought back into production in the same style of the originals but with some changes, making parts non interchangeable.
