Hello- Up for auction is an ORIGINAL early 1912 pre-sinking Vaccuum Oil postcard advertising the Titanic's maiden voyage. Which makes this postcard even rarer than other pre-sinking postcards is that it makes no mention to the Olympic, only the Titanic. The top portion of the postcard reads " WHITE STAR TRIPLE-SCREW STEAMER "TITANIC'' (45,000 TONS). THE LARGEST VESSEL IN THE WORLD. FIRST VOYAGE FROM SOUTHAMPTON TO NEW YORK, WEDNESDAY APRIL 10, 1912. " The bottom reads "THIS VESSEL IS LUBRICATED WITH "VACUUM" TURBINE OIL." The postcard was published by the Vacuum Oil Co. LTD of London. The back of the postcard reads "BOOKPOST" and is in excellent condition. measures 6''4'' not posted. This postcard originated from the estate of Ken Schultz and was featured in his 2005/2006 ocean liner catalog at a price of $1,500.00. When he died the postcard was sold through another dealer who was the executor of Schultz's estate. Shipping in the United States will be $1.00 and $3.00 internationally. Good luck bidding.
