Original WW2 US Navy Modified Bausch & Lomb Mark 37 9X63 Naval Binoculars. Bausch & Lomb 7 X 50 binocular modified by US Navy to 9 X 63 during the war. Few of these modified binoculars were produced. Marked "US Navy Bu Ord US Naval Gun Factory Mark 37 No. 3101 1944" and "Bausch & Lomb OPT. CO. Rochester NY USA". With original Hood rubber carrying case missing shoulder strap. Hard to find.Condition as shown. Very good. Vision is clear. Prisms and reflectors are intact and free of damage when looking through binoculars backwards. Noting a few tiny dirk specks and some soiling haze to eyepiece ends, and yellow haze at left wide end lens. Caused by Canada Balsam optical adhesive that was used when binoculars were built. Needs to be cleaned. Exterior has old Ordnance Dept repaint with gloss paint.As found.
