Original rare World War II large vintage poster produced by the US Army. It features a fighter jet and the words: "Lightning strikes the axis! The Army Air Forces salute a great plane". It was produced in 1943 and the artist is unknown.Condition: This poster comes from my Grandmother's estate and has been rolled up and in storage for a number of years. Because of this, the colors have remained relatively vivid. It does however have a issues. The worst issues are a 4 inch rip on the left hand side that goes into the print and a smaller 2 inch rip a bit further down. It's been folded over on the rip and someone put masking tape on part of it on the back. The upper edge has been badly crumpled and has small tears all along it. It looks like it sat in water at one point as there are ripples on the upper surface. Please study the photographs.Size: 100cm X 73cmI sold another of these Axis posters earlier this month, this one is in worse condition then the other but is still a lovely piece of history!Payment must be made within 3 days of auction end.
