It is made of metal, painted black and lightly "antiqued" with gold to give it that gorgeous vintage look. This set is reminiscent of the old country French time period. Measures approximately: Lg16âeH x 5 3/4âeL x 3 1/2"dp Sm 14 1/2"H x 6 1/2L x 3 1/2dp The Picture Size measures 4" x 6" and 6" x 4" respectively and is completely open as picture stands were back a century ago. Pictures just slip into the slots. Very unique but common a hundred years ago! This set is also wonderful for displaying those extra special postcards from abroad!
