This is a newly crafted vintage style kaleidoscope created in my studio in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is a one of a kind cast solder and art glass two wheel scope mounted on a found object pedestal. There are large jeweled embellishments on each side of the body as wee as on the back of the base accented by strung beads along the top and sides.As the wheels are turned the jewelry pieces and glass pieces flow into intricate ever changing images. The glass used in this scope is a deep blue/lavender reproduction glass. This is an exceptional heirloom quality kaleidoscope that will be a cherished gift or great addition for the collector. The cast solder ornamentation has a patina burnished to give the piece an antique look and polished to a metallic luster. This piece is 9 1/2" long and 8" high. The scope has three top quality front surface mirrors in the viewing chamber which guarantee a sharp clear image. The mirror chamber is sealed at both ends to insure that dust will not collect to distort the images. The wheels have stained glass pieces and jewelry elements as well as other objects soldered into place.
