Orrefors Art Deco Crystal Decanter Designed by Edward Hald Dated 1943 Clean, classic Art Deco lines. Heavy crystal. Edward Hald worked for Orrefors from 1917-1978 and was one of the designers who brought the modernist design into Orrefors . The decanter is in near perfect condition. There are 2 minute nicks on the corners of the base. One is 2 mm horizontal nick on right corner (5th photo). The other corner on that same side (short side) is a vertical nick 3 mm in height. The 2 mm one is virtually imperceptible. The 3 mm nick is only very slightly noticeable. Signed Orrefors HA 2793 H signifies Edward Hald A - cut and polished glass 2793 indicates the production was in 1943. Height: 19.5 cm Width: 10 cm Depth: 7.5 cm Tapers to base: Width: 7.5 Depth: 6 cm Holds just under .5 liter. The decanter weighs 1.32 kg or 2 lbs 15 oz. Beautiful elongated hexagonal stopper.
