This is an Orvis impregnated split bamboo fly rod. It carries the serial # 32095 on all three sections. It is the Battenkill model in an 8' length, rated at HCH- 5 or 6 wt line test that weighs 4 1/4 ounces. It is all original in length, sock and tube. It is a 2-2 rod, built in April 18, 1962 by C. Skinnard and G. Reid and has a size 13 ferrule. The blueing is still at least 95%. The bamboo is excellent and no defects whatsoever, the rod is still straight. The cork is excellent, the eyes and wraps all excellent, the ferrules still fit perfect and the reel seat with its walnut spacer still looks and works fine. These older Orvis bamboo rods, in my opinion, are superior to the newer Orvis rods. One might ask why I am selling it. I will tell you, it is because I have another eight footer just like it, just a little older. Buy with confidence, 3 day inspection with money back, less shipping. A new Orvis rod like this today would cost around $1800.00. Thanks and Good luck. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If there is a particular bamboo rod you are looking for, let me know. I have a couple hundred Bamboo Rods I could put it right on ebay.
