A little history about my jewelry: The date range of the items I am selling covers the majority of the 20th century but mainly from the 1930's to the 1970's. I have recently decided to introduce a few newer items that I like very much. I attempt to identify the time frame for each piece selling. To my knowledge everything to be sold will be an authentic Native American item. I do my best to describe my pieces with accuracy and specific detail. Your questions are always welcome and I will try to answer them as directly and clearly as possible. Please ask them before the end of the auctions. OUTSTANDING CHEYENNE INDIAN TURQUIOSE RING NIGHTHORSE Unusual & special ring by well known listed artisan This is an unusual and very good looking ring fashioned in the mid-late 1970's by the well known silver smith Ben Nighthorse. His hallmark is on the inside with another mark that I am cannot make out. Nighthorse is a Cheyenne Indian whose silver smithing work started in the mid 1970's dating this ring back to one of his early creations. Along with being a silver smith of renown he was also a Judo champion, horse man and politician having been a Democratic congressman in Colorado . This is a fascinating ring. A beautiful sky blue oval turquoise sits in the center of a large offset oval silver setting and is surrounded by a cut out overlay with a deeply textured ground and rich oxidation which has remained in place for 30 + years. The entire central design is flanked on either side by two hand cut and applied silver feathers. The ring shows dedicated wear but nothing problematic. The silver has a nice soft patina and it was polished sometime in the past by its former owner. It weighs about 11 grams and is a size 7 ½. It can be sized by your jeweler if you so choose. The overall setting measures 1 ¼ inches tall by about 5/8 inches across. It is guaranteed to be sterling silver. This unusual and rare ring would make a great gift this season to yourself or someone you love who likes the unique and special in Native American jewelry. I will examine everything before listing and disclose any damage or problems I observe. I accept US postal money orders or Paypal . I'm happy to combine shipping for you. Insurance is required and is in addition to shipping fees. I am not liable for any damage or loss incurred during shipping. I charge $4.75 for handling and it will be included in your shipping fee. Delivery confirmation is included in shipping and will be on all items. Due to health reasons, we only make one trip to the post office a week for the time being.
