This is a rare playbill from the week of March 29th, 1937 for the two-week, Post-Broadway engagement of the D'OYLY CARTE GILBERT and SULLIVAN OPERA COMPANY of London in repertory at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. (The company presented the same schedule of performances beginning September 14th, 1936 at New York's Martin Beck Theatre prior to this tour.) ..... This was the first visit to Cleveland for the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company whose repertoire included "THE MIKADO" (or "The Town of Titipu"), "THE GONDOLIERS" (or "The King of Barataria"), "THE YEOMEN OF THE GUARD" (or "The Merryman and his Maid"), "IOLANTHE" (or "The Peer and the Peri") and "PATIENCE" (or "Bunthorne's Bride") .....
