Beautiful 1934 Rope's Gold Mine Split Core Ore SampleThis is a split core sample from Rope,s Gold Mine. The person I purchased these from has been prospecting for mineral specimens his whole life. When I asked him about the information of the core samples he hand wrote the information posted in the picture. He stated that these core samples were from 1934 and used to show potential investors. This most likely were set aside for a lack of visible gold. It probably contains only a microscopic amount of gold if any at all. The value is in its mining history.Here is some information about the mine: In 1868, before Ishpeming was incorporated as a village in 1869 and a city four years later, a charter to form a school district was granted.
