The medal is one of a series of four that were part of the "Booth House of Lords Gin Survey" and were sent to bars and restaurants that sampled the Booth House of Lords Gin. This one is stamped 1971; the first were made in 1969. Sir Felix Booth was the son of the founder of Booth's Distilleries and sponsored an expedition to North America to seek a northwest passage to the Orient. Although they didn't find a passage, they discovered the North Magnetic Pole and the land of Boothia, named for Sir Felix Booth. The back of the medal features the six lions of Booth's House of Lords Gin; and the front bears the image of one of four famous Englishmen.
