Offered is this charming set of SIX fine porcelain china salad or dessert plates, hand painted by Pickard in Chicago. The smooth white-ware blanks were made in Limoges, France, by William Guerin (W.G. & Co.). The décor is comprised of yellow daffodils or jonquils with green foliage on a field of pastel pink and blue, the colors of dawn or sunrise. Golden ribbons blow in the breeze behind the flowers. The plates date to the early 1900s. This Guerin mark was introduced in 1900 and the Pickard decorator’s mark dates from 1905 to 1910. A quarter-inch band of gold encircles the gently scalloped rim. The plates measure 8 inches in diameter (20.3 cm). They are in very good condition for their years. No chips or cracks. Slight scratching due to service use. Gold trim in very good condition, but does show very slight wear. Questions welcomed. Thanks for looking.
