On auction we have a pair of antique Chinese plates. They have hand painted enamel scenes of families and decorative borders. The plates measure 9 1/2" in diameter and sit 1" above the table at their gold trimmed edges. Sadly, they have no markings on the back. My antique dealer tells me these are Canton Famille Rose plates from the 1880's. We agree these are in very good condition for their age and use. There are no cracks or repairs. One plate has a tiny flea bite on the back edge, not visible from the front. Both have mild wear on the bright enameled painting. This is best described by my pictures. Please view all my photographs for more description. My friend has had these in her storage for decades. Aren't you glad she's willing to part with a few of her treasures? I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping. The pair weigh 2 pounds 4.5 ounces. These will be shipped double boxed. Postage might be higher, but you will receive them safely.
