In this auction we are offering TWO (2) Very Old lodge swords from men's fraternal organizations. One is marked FCB (Fraternal Catholic Brotherhood ? ) on the scabbard and "U R" with a lily in the middle on the clamshell guard. The 28 inch blade is in very good condition except that the nickel finish is beginning to lift. The fittings on this sword are in high relief and have great detail, with the handle being in brass while the scabbard has fittings in white metal, silvered, that has now turned dark. Scabbard has glazed with rust, but with fittings removed could be restored and silvered or blackened to make this a VERY displayable piece ----The other is a VERY Scarce, if not RARE sword from the "KNIGHTS of SAINT JOHN" Founded in 1879. This sword has the very old style elliptical shaped blade from the late 1800s and the makers mark of "W. Clauberg- Solingen" with the figure of a knight. Blade is rusty . Scabbard is all brass and will polish to a beautiful finish and is in keeping with the blade as it is very plain as were most of the early scabbards. Plain wooden handle and chain hand guard attached to Eagle topped Knights head at top and fancy "dolphin" styled cross guard, both of white metal with "KSJ" shield clamshell in brass or copper - Will clean to a very pleasing contrast. is your chance to add TWO nice pieces to your collection read more
