This pair of vases are light blue or gray blue with a slight purple undertone in color and have hand painted scenes of courting couple on each one. The painting is very well done and is surrounded by gilding in the shape of flowers. The vases are 13 1/8 inches tall and 5 ½ inches in diameter at the widest point. There is gilding on the inside of the vase and some patterns along the top and lines along the bottom. These date to the second half of the 19thcentury, likely around 1860. The vases have no chips, cracks or repairs. The painted scenes are especially vibrant and are in excellent condition though there is some light wear to the gilding around the scenes.
