description we are very excited to offer this absolutely exquisite pair of miniature porcelain hand painted chinese vases with a mark / signature. this stunning pair have mirrored scenes of women outdoors with one of them fishing. this will be an extraordinary pair of showpieces for some lucky collector. here's your chance to own an extremely rare and hard-to-find pair of vases in excellent condition with the exception of a small chip on one of the rims (see last pic). this historic pair come from the estate of a prominent chinese-american. "he was the first texan of chinese descent to serve in the texas legislature when he was elected to the house of representatives from bexar county. he was also the first officer of chinese descent in the united states navy." this information was obtained from an article written in 1981 entitled "chinese texans", which was published by the university of texas institute of texan cultures at san antonio. t he superb vases measure approximately 2 1/2" tall, 5 7/8" in circumference at the widest point, and the rim opening is 1 1/4" in diameter. the vase is marked on the bottom with a mark that we're not familiar with. we're not sure of the exact date it was manufactured or artist. the vases are a little dusty from years of loving display. please pay close attention to the pics for a better, detailed read more
