Photo's can't do justice to this beautiful pair of artist signed and inscribed soapstone statues of a man and a woman. The Chinese writing is on the backside of both figures and their respective bases as shown in my photographs. The man is green and red soapstone and the woman is green soapstone, and both stand on a brown stone base. This is an older pair of statues, purchased originally at an estate auction and both figures are in very good condition. I've included pictures from all sides to accurately depict the design, quality, condition and overall beauty of these wonderful carvings. The man stands 7 inches tall on his base with the figure itself measuring approximately 5 1/4 inches. The woman stands 6 1/2 inches on her base with the figure itself measuring approximately 4 3/4 inches tall. This great set is a terrific example of Chinese soapstone sculpture and will be a great art display in your home or place of business. What a great additions to any soapstone carving collection!
