A lovely duo of two art deco era wooden cocktail trays, made by Rufra of Wasungen in Germany, probably in the 1930s The trays have unvarnished plain wooden frames, and are small and rectangular - designed as little bar trays for serving cocktails The jazzy geometric design is the same on both trays but in slightly different shades, and involves stylised florals and leaves with colour blocks of blue and yellow T he pattern has been applied with an underglass spray-painting or airbrushed technique known in Germany as spritzdekor - spritzdekor was a very popular form of decoration in Germany in the early years of the 20th century, and pieces from that period are now becoming very collectable The trays are unmarked, but every marked tray of this kind I have seen has had the Rufra, Wasungen stamp The trays are in very good condition with no damage - the smaller tray has some minor speckling read more
