Pair of Japanese Porcelain Hand-painted Pigs, Alfretto by MaruriPair of hand-painted porcelain pigs by Maruri Porcelain of Japan in their Italian Capodimonte style under the 'Alfretto' Brand. Pair of very life-like finely painted pink pinks, probably British Landrace or Large White breeds or similar. Marked to base with the faux capodimonte mark of a crown over an 'A' in blue for 'Alfretto'Maruri began making their Continental porcelain models in the Italian style after the Second World War ended in 1945, for export, mainly to the UK and USA. They chose a suitable Italianate name of 'Alfretto' to market these under and a take on the Capodimonte mark and its German imitators as a backstamp6.5" (16cm) long, 3.5" (9cm) high.
