Absolutely amazing . . . Pair Of Framed Joseph Thors (1843-1898) Original Oil On Canvas Landscape Paintings At Dusk And Dawn in Original Signed Gesso Frames. Stunning masterpieces with enchanting color and mesmerizing detail. Each piece is signed LR corner, and I believe they are dated along with artist's full signature on lower part of each frame (see pics). Canvas on each measures 8" in length and 6" in height. With the original gold gesso period frames, each piece measures 15" in length and 13" in height. Nice conditions as seen in pics (frames do have some wear as seen in photos.. Short bio on Joseph Thors: Joseph Thors was a landscape painter who lived in London but also painted in the Midlands, where he is regarded as a member of the Birmingham School. His landscapes are mainly rustic cottages, figures and animals, painted in a style similar to that of the Norwich School. Naturalistic landscape painting was the fundamental aim of both the Norwich and Birmingham Schools.
