A PAIR OF LOVELY B&G (Bing & Grøndahl)/COPENHAGEN FIGURES OF BIRDS – OPTIMIST AND PESSIMIST 1633 + 1635 Design by Dahl-Jensen For auction is a lovely pair of Bing & Grøndahl figures of birds, Optimist and Pessimist, nos: 1633 + 1635. Both figures bear the B&G (Bing & Grøndahl) stamp, 3 towers in a green circle, together with the above numbers and an artist’s initial in blue w . The mark indicates a production date of 1970-83 . The bird figures were originally designed by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen. Measure: Height each: 2.0” ( 5.0 cm) Length each: 4.9” (12.5 cm) Condition The figures are in very good condition with no cracks or restoration. The Optimist has a small nick to the side of the smallest tail feather and the Pessimist has a small nibble to the inside of one of the wing feathers. The pair still displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a collection, maybe as a starter item. Please see photos. Any white marks in the pictures are from the flash of my camera.
