Sterling Silver Vintage Compact DESCRIPTION: A pair of swans on a cobalt blue lake is the focal point of this stunning compact. The enamel panel is surrounded by a field of chased silver. The front panel has two designs in the silver; another design is on the sides; the reverse has a fourth design; and the latch has its own design. That's five designs chased into the silver and though it sounds like a lot, they don't compete for attention. Be sure to see all the photos to get the entire picture. The compact opens with a ball hinge. It has a finger hole for easy carrying. The inside has a mirror and the remnants of powder and rouge. Two puffs are inside and both are in bad shape. I don't sell a lot of compacts and was not sure if collectors like the insides as found or cleaned out. So, I left the insides as I found them. If the buyer wishes, I will clean out the powder residue before shipping. As far as I can tell the only thing this compact lacks is a maker to credit. I can find no maker's marks anyw on it.
